#WildernessTubuTree (advertisement) I am still dreaming about my time at Wilderness Tubu Tree Camp in the Jao Reserve — tucked away in a quiet corner of the Okavango Delta. The camp has just been beautifully refurbished in 2024, and wow… the rooms are huge — airy, light-filled, with sleek, contemporary interiors that somehow still feel totally in sync with the bush. Each tent has a massive deck that looks straight out onto open grasslands — I spent so much time just sitting there, watching the light shift and wildlife wander past. There are only eight rooms, which makes it feel super intimate and exclusive — like you’ve got your own private corner of the Delta. And the wildlife? Unreal. We had wild dogs being chased away by a lioness fiercely protecting a wildebeest she was feasting on, I’ll soon share some photos of that sighting. It was spectacular! This is truly one of those places where you go quiet within minutes and time stretches endlessly. Even just two nights here have a lasting effect ✨ #WeAreWilderness

Off to Botswana with @wearewilderness 🇧🇼 (Ad Off to Botswana with @wearewilderness 🇧🇼
(Advertisement | Press Trip). On a clear May morning I land in Maun. It’s been a long journey, but there’s a sweet reward: I‘m being greeted by the lovely @jessica.bruehwiler and @jonstrah, who are both in Maun at the very same day by chance! What are the odds? 🥰 I have an hour before my bush plane leaves for the Okavango delta, so we sit down with an iced tea and exchange our Botswana experiences. They are off to the delta as well a day later and all three of us can’t wait to see it filled with water! This year might be a record flood for the Okavango delta—even at the beginning of May it’s already so full of water that some airstrips are being flooded. The helicopter pilots are rubbing their hands already, knowing this might be a really profitable season for them, because they’ll pick up all the business when bushplane airstrips are out of service 😉 My first stop is Wilderness Tubu tree, a newly refurbished camp in the Jao reserve of the delta. I don’t know yet what awaits me, but I already know this place is special. Botswana, here I come again!
Stay tuned for what’s about to unfold. #WeAreWilderness

A few more scenes from our production for @gut_ste A few more scenes from our production for @gut_steinbach, Germany. (Advertisement) I always love capturing the atmosphere of a place, the tranquility, the surrounding nature, the little details. Hotel photography is a skill, that needed some honing for me. I try to look at things from a perspective that isn’t too literal, but also conveys the spirit of a place. And that’s a fine balance to strike. That’s why I always love working with owner-run hotels, as there’s a certain personality that comes along with people who put their whole heart and soul into a place. Now only one question remains: when can we come back?
I hear this is a wonderful winter escape too 😉 #gutsteinbach #germany

Haven’t shared a lot about this on here as I don’t have kids myself, but I really love connecting with children and often think they get me more than adults) 😅 Kids bring a different energy to a set—if you know how to make them feel at ease and comfortable (apples and other snacks help 😉). Also @gut_steinbach is such a sanctuary—surrounded by forests and with its own swimming pond. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, even if it was a work trip. If you’re ever longing for a city escape from Vienna (or Munich!), with the added bonus of really delicious „Kaiserschmarrn“, safe this post for later 🥰 #gutsteinbach

(Advertisement) The subtle changes of colors reflecting on the surface of the Zambezi River, the tiny details like dung beetles rolling their balls at the horse stable. The evenings spent at the campfire. The birds resting on logs watching the sunset. The candles lit around the wooden deck, the flowers in the rooms. It’s hard to describe a place with words, sometimes hard to convey an atmosphere with photos. (Advertisement) The first time I visited this owner-run lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River was back in 2019 as per recommendation of my long-term safari partners @pintoafrica 🙌🏼✨ Now—six years later—I’m back, camera in hand, to shoot this incredible property again. Tucked just 20km upstream from Livingstone and the stunning Victoria Falls, Chundukwa is a peaceful sanctuary where the river flows in front of the stilted chalets, hippos float by gently, and the soul feels still. Each riverside chalet is open-fronted, allowing to wake up with crocodiles drifting below and birdsong above. Coming back felt like flipping through old memories and seeing them come alive in new light. Same warm faces, same golden sunsets, and equally magical this time around. So grateful to be back where my lens first found its love for Zambia 🇿🇲✨ #ChundukwaRiverLodge #ZambeziDreaming #TravelPhotographer #VictoriaFalls #ZambiaTravel #WildZambezi #livingstone #zambia #chundukwa

(Advertisement) For my first trip to Tanzania I couldn’t have asked for a better experience—thanks to the recommendations and organization of @unikat.afrika, who are outstanding Tanzania specialists based in Germany: 🌿 Season: The low season in April allowed for incredibly quiet safari moments even in the famous Serengeti. Consider going off season for a more private experience! 🏹 Cultural immersion: They organised a very authentic cultural visit with the Hadzabe tribe, the last hunter gatherers in Tanzania. A very special opportunity! ⛺️ Camps: From a 100% woman-led camp to a luxury tented mobile camp and a lodge in a private concession—we stayed at somewhat of the creme de la creme of camps in Tanzania. They truly know where to stay! If you’re ever planning a Tanzania trip I can highly recommend the services of @unikat.afrika ♥️✨ Even when things go wrong—like with our 8 hour delayed international flight, they quickly react and reorganize the trip—all via WhatsApp. 🏆 If you book a similar Tanzania trip like we did with the code „COUCHSAFARI“ you’ll even get a free hot air balloon ride (worth 560 euros) as a bonus! Thank you very much for having us Anke & Marius and thanks to Paddy for inviting my along 🙌🏼✨ #tanzania #unikatafrika
Our final stop of this Tanzania journey was someth Our final stop of this Tanzania journey was something truly special: @andbeyondkleinscamp 🇹🇿
(On safari with @unikat.afrika and @couchsafaripodcast | Advertisement). Klein’s Camp lies tucked away in a private concession at the Northeastern edge of the Serengeti, with direct access to the Northern Serengeti ecosystem as well as the private concession that is full of leopards and elephants. 🐘🌿 Perched high on the Kuka Hills, the camp—and especially the iconic bar—offers a breathtaking lookout over endless plains. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and the silence speaks volumes. This is one of the most traditional camps in the Serengeti ecosystem, and it feels like it—warm, rooted, and quietly legendary. Some of the team members have been here for up to 20 years, so it genuinely feels like being welcomed into a family. But it’s not just the location and heritage that is so special here. It’s expert guiding, off-road drives in the private concession and unforgettable night safaris with leopards. It’s evenings spent with the Maasai from nearby Ololosokwan village, meaning „Land of the buffalo“. And it’s cozy nights spent in our thatched cottage-style huts— it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable safari. ✨ #SerengetiMagic #andbeyond #andbeyondkleinscamp #serengeti #tanzaniasafari
