(Update, January 2023). A holiday home with all the services of a hotel? That’s the ultimate luxury. Secluded, but serviced accommodations are the most intimate way to enjoy a holiday. In the mountain village of Leogang two very special luxury chalets opened their doors recently. And they offer just that – an exclusive holiday home to yourself, but with personalised hotel services. Welcome to Senhoog!
The architecture at Senhoog is spectacular – especially the glass sliding doors and windows provide light and views!
Leogang: As seen from above
We’ve been to Leogang a couple of times already and always love this place. Usually we stay in one of the countless (incredible) hotels in the valley, but this time we got to enjoy something even better – a holiday home just to ourselves, looking down on the valley from up in the mountains!
Rustic wood meets modern architecture – a balanced mix!
Sunrise & sunset views
The Senhoog chalets are located a narrow mountain road away from the centre of the village. Here you’ll be away from it all and can enjoy incredible panoramas, but it’s still only 5 minutes to the centre. As the valley is open to the East and West you can see the sunrise and sunset from up here!
From sunrise to sunset – the location on top of the hill makes the difference to the valley!
Senhoog chalet Gipfelkreuzliebe
There are two different chalets by Senhoog in Leogang. We stayed in the chalet “Gipfelkreuzliebe”, which offers 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen, a private indoor spa with sauna and the best: your very own heated outdoor infinity pool, hot pot and barbecue station.
The open en-suite bathroom of the master bedroom was our favourite!
The chalet “Gipfelkreuzliebe” has 250sqm and stretches over 4 floors. The rooms have floor to ceiling windows and balconies overlooking the iconic mountain scenery.
This swing chair was one of our favourite places during the stay!
Because we loved our stay so much we decided to return for a second stay – this time in the winter – to also test the second chalet called “Bergwärtsgeist”. Here 2-5 guests can enjoy 180sqm and a large open living room with a fireplace and kitchen, as well as their private wellness area and outdoor heated pool.
Concierge service in the chalet
In the morning your personal concierge serves breakfast at your preferred time – including a daily offering of one freshly prepared egg dish and one sweet dish like blueberry pancakes. The spread is quite impressive, ranging from homemade hazelnut cream to guacamole, from croissants to a huge fruit platter, vegan chia pudding with oat milk to the best ever passionfruit jam we ever tasted.
While you enjoy breakfast the maid makes up the rooms, cleans the spa area, provides fresh towels and sometimes also brings a little surprise – like a cooler filled with orange mint water for you to keep hydrated during the day chilling on the deck.
The heated infinity pool
We stayed for three nights and didn’t really leave the chalet until the very last day. There’s just too much to do and enjoy within the holiday home at Senhoog. The first day we went for a sunrise swim in the infinity pool, followed by breakfast and then relaxed in the sun.
Kitchen stories or catering?
In the afternoon we tested the kitchen and cooked a three-course dinner for ourselves. Later we learned that most guests don’t cook themselves, but rather book a chef to come to the chale or get catering from a restaurant.
We thoroughly enjoyed our homemade dinner and decided to even do a full vegetarian barbecue the next evening to also test the gas barbecue. Our butler Stephan helped us set up the barbecue and even provided all the materials so we could also use the fire pit. To accompany the barbecue we used the fully stocked fridge with juices, tonic, beer, soft drinks. Wine lovers also can choose a a bottle from the very own wine cellar in the chalet!
After the barbecue we went out for a sunset walk just a few steps out of the chalet and then jumped into the hot pot and watched the stars twinkle.
Card games, ice cream & hiking
We played card games, read, used the swing chair on the balcony, did aqua fitness and got spoiled with freshly prepared coffee ice cream, that the team brought as a surprise. There’s little reason to leave this place for anything else than going hiking or biking, which you can easily do here!
If you’re up for a luxurious mountain retreat, this is the place to go! But better be quick, the chalets are booked out months in advance.
When we had to leave after three days we knew we wanted to return, maybe for a skiing holiday when Leogang is fully covered in snow!
